Chapter 7

Ash punched the wall, “fuck that bitch,” he cursed, with his two best friends behind him getting increasingly worried about him. One of them called out his name, in the hope that it would bring him back to normal, it failed miserably as he turned to them and started shouting again, “I give up, such a bitch!”

Misty made her way over to him, and took him by the shoulder, “you better not be talking about me!” She growled.

What’s wrong Ash, are you OK?” Mimicked Ash, imitating what he thought Misty should be saying to him. Misty instantly grabbed him by the collar and shook him, hard.

“I know exactly what’s wrong with you, Ash Ketchem, you are obsessed with Team Rocket and have forgotten about Pikachu in the process.” Ash struggled to get free and stepped back from Misty. He gulped as he saw the anger flooding her eyes, his thoughts ran to what she had said and suddenly, he was thinking clearly.

“Where’s Pikachu?” He tried to say, only getting the work ‘Pikachu’ out. Suddenly something inside him went click and he found himself running towards Team Rocket. Half of him wanted to be friendly with them to spite Misty, and the other half just wanted Pikachu, convinced that they had it. He burst into Jessie’s cubicle and without thinking shouted, “where’s Pikachu?” However, no one seemed to notice him, their attention was on a girl lying on the floor, he knew instantly who it was, it was Jessibelle. Janie and James where wrapped up in each other to Ash’s puzzlement and Jessie was just siting on her bed in a state of shock. Janie was the first to see him,

“Get a docter would you Ketchem?” She smiled. Ash did as he was told, the shock of seeing Jessibelle out of action seemed to wipe his mind blanc.

Janie, James and Jessie stood in silence for a minute, then as they all turned to face each other laughter filled the room; they all seemed to suddenly see the funny side of the situation.

“Did you see her face when you kissed?!” Jessie screamed through her laughter. Janie crouched down beside the unconscious Jessibelle and whispered,

“That will teach you to mess with us.” As she received no answer to this her face stiffened, “Jessibelle, can you hear me?” She asked still receiving no response. Janie turned to the gawping Jessie and James, “shit she’s clean out.” They all roared with laughter again as a doctor walked in. James saw him, bit his lip hard to stop his giggling and pointed to the body on the floor, waiting to hear the doctor’s reaction to the laughter and, (what looked like) a dead person, on the floor. The doctor’s face hardened with concern,

“What is the meaning of this?” He demanded, silencing them immediately. Though every time one court another’s eye, they had to bite their tongues keep from laughing in the doc’s face.

“She must be very vulnerable,” Said Jessie, “they only told her the news.”

“What news?” Ash shouted from the door making his way to Janie as she looked at James and nodded for him to tell,

“We’re getting married,” he smirked, putting his arm through Janie’s as he tried to make it look more convincing.

“Huh, what?” Ash called, “that can’t happen, you’re not even!”

Janie instantly grabbed him and covered his mouth with her hand to shut him up.

“What does he know?” She said shakily, “don’t listen to him.”

“Yeah, the twerps a bit, wrong in the head,” James put in. He jumped when he saw Jessibelle twitch and quickly added, “anyway, you’d better get her out of here, she might not be comfortable waking up with us still here.” The doctor, amazingly did as he was told! When he had left with Jessibelle, Janie freed Ash from her grip and gained a blank look from him. Just at that moment, Misty stormed in like a wife collecting her late, drunk husband from a late night party at the pub.

“We are leaving right now, Ash,” she announced, dragging by the collar to the door.

“So then I said, ‘we’re getting married’” Janie said as the crowd around her roared. She smiled with satisfaction and ordered another drink. “The Naked Thief, what kind of name is that for a bar?” She squeaked as a hiccup escaped her lips, “it’s fulse advertising.” Loosing her balance, she fell forward into someone’s arms. “Hello there.” She hiccuped, trying to sound as flirtatious as she could. The man gazed back at her astonished and jumped when she shouted his name, “James, oh how nice of you to change your mind and join us.” Without a word, James angrily dragged her out of the pub and back to his flat. He through her on the sofa and sighed as he gazed at the drunken mess that was Janie. She stared back at him with a cheeky smile on her face. Struggling to her feet, she wobbled over to where he stood, and held her face close to his.

“I must say, you look possessively gorgeous when you look at me like that.” She slurred slipping her hand behind his head and pulling him towards her, not realising he was a lot drunker than her. They fell onto the sofa, Janie’s tongue exploring his mouth, for a minute, James didn’t respond, he was two stunned. But after a minute on two, he mirrored her actions as his hands her exploring her smooth back under her top. A second later, her top was on the floor and his hands were on her bra as he pulled it off in blind lust. Her breasts were pressed against his naked chest as she pulled his shirt over his head. They embraced for a few minutes more before stopping and looking into each other’s eyes, both poised to go further. Without thinking, Janie flung herself into him, her lips hard on his. Meanwhile, she fumbled around with is belt and pushed down his trousers. She felt nothing but excitement, she had never done this before. Janie felt her legs being exposed to the air as he climbed on top of her. She just relaxed and took this, it was after all, what she wanted – sex. Neither of them could think of anything but what they were doing, not of what the out come would be in the morning.

Jessie heard the words, ‘good morning, dear’ and curled up tighter, flinching at the thought of spending yet another day in that stinky hospital.

“I have great news,” said her nurse smiling, “you will be able to leave the day after tomorrow.” Jessie felt a wide grin spread across her face, feeling nothing but pure pleasure and excitement flow through her veins. She looked at the nurse, she seemed pretty happy about this too.

“You must tell people that everyday,” Jessie challenged, “if you manage to keep that level of excitement for every one of them, you must lead a very boring life.”

“I’m sure it’s better than yours,” the nurse sneered. Taken aback by this sudden change of face, Jessie fell silent for a moment, only to break it with,

“I’ve known this guy for years right, but I’ve never found the courage to tell him that I love him, I’m gonna tell him when I get out of this place.” Smiling in triumph, Jessie took a sip of her water which was beside her bed and almost spat it out when the nurse spoke again,

“I’m a P.I in my spare time.” Outraged by this come back, Jessie was determined to win this.

“I’m a member of Team…a private organisation, top secret if you know what I mean,” she said carefully. The nurse laughed sympathetically and left the room. Jessie, not knowing what to make of this took out a pen and paper and wrote down all the things she could say to that P.I/nurse when she showed her face again!

Janie woke with a start and grabbed her head, it felt like it had been used as a football. She rolled off the sofa and almost screamed when she saw clothes scattered all over the floor.

“No,” she breathed as pure flowed through her veins. She looked down at her self, the fact she was naked confirmed her fear. Slipping her clothes on she pondered over and over on what to say to James, was he angry? Sad? Regretful? Or maybe he was happy about what happened. She made her way as slowly as she could to the kitchen, hugging herself tightly. She got to the door and looked inside, James was sat at the table in his bath-robe clutching a cup of cold tea in his hands. His eyes weren’t focused, they seemed almost emotionless, fake – not human. Janie jumped when she saw his lips moved,

“What have we done?” It didn’t even sound like him, Janie felt the same as he looked – stunned. She let her feet give way to her and she fell to the floor, James still didn’t move. Janie waited for a bad atmosphere to form, but it didn’t. She continued to sit on the floor, and he in his chair, not a word was exchanged between them. Just peace and tranquillity passed through the flat, as meanwhile, the rest of the world got up and talked.
