    "Butch? Butch! Wake up!"
The snoring man grumbled something in his sleep and rolled over.
"Wake up Nimrod!" his female partner ordered, shoving him out of
his
sleeping bag.  His eyes snapped open.
"Cassi, " he mumbled lazily.  "It's not even light out yet!"
"I'm pregnant, Butch," she said bluntly.
His brown eyes turned to her purple eyes, wide with fear.  "What
did you
say?"
    "I'm pregnant," she repeated.
He sat up. "How do you know?"
    "I took a test."
    "Is it accurate?"
"Ninety-nine percent."  She froze when he grabbed her shoulders.
"One time Cass!" he cried.  "That's it!"
"I know," she sighed. "That's all it took."  She bit her lower lip
now to
hold back tears.
"Crap," Butch breathed.  "We are in deep crap."  He heard Cassidy
begin
to sob now.
"I can't be!" she sobbed.  "I'll loose my job!"
Sympathetically, he took her in his arms and rested his cheek on
her
hair.  "It's okay, Cass," he assured.  "The Boss won't mind.  I bet
he'd
appreciate one of our kids!"
That only made her sob harder.  Butch and Cassidy hadn't realized
that
they were attracted to one another until about a month ago.  They
weren't
really in love, just... attracted. They'd made the mistake of giving
into that
attraction last night, leaving Cassidy in her current position.
"Wait until Jessie finds out," she cried.  "We'll never hear the
end of
it!"

James was still lying in her arms when she slowly awoke.  With a smile,
she
inched closer to feel the warmth of his skin against hers again.  His
eyes
fluttered open as well now and gazed into hers.
"Morning," he whispered when he was finally awake.
"Hi," she replied.
"Did we just really spend another night together?" he asked.  She
nodded at
him and moved the loose strand of hair out of his eyes. He smiled.
"Wow."
She laid a finger over his lips.  "Shhh..." she whispered. "We've got
to get
back before Meowth catches us."
He giggled to himself.  "If he only knew!"
"Well he *can't* know," she scolded, dressing herself. She paused to
glance
at him as he watched her. "Problem?"
"You're just so cute," he said.
Blushing, she finished dressing and stood.  "You go to the lake," she
explained, pretending that they hadn't just... well... "Catch some food
if you
can."
He sighed, watching her walk away like she did every time that they
spent a
night together: pretending like it never happened.  He loved her, and
he only
wished that she'd acknowledge the fact a little better sometimes.

Jessie paused before she reentered camp and laid a hand over her
stomach.
She felt ill again: *very ill*.
"Meowth!" she called. "I'm hungry!"
The Pokemon mumbled a crude remark as she sat down near him and began
brushing her hair. "Where's James?" he growled.
"Umm... He's off getting food."  She didn't sound very confident.
"Sure he is."
"What does that mean?"
The cat-type rolled his eyes. "Ya tink dat I don't know what's
goin' on?"
he asked.
"What does that mean?" she repeated, a sweat drop forming above her
head.
"I heard you's two last night," he said smugly.  "An da night before.
And da
night before dat too."
She smiled nervously at him.  "Heard what, Meowth?"
He snorted in disgust.  "I don't care ta repeat those noises," he said.
"It's a little too lurid."
She let a little nervous laugh and stared at him.  "I still don't know
what
you're talking about."
"Please!" he exclaimed.  "I saw da two of you's sneak out of camp last
night.
And ya didn't come back until dis mornin'."
She cleared her throat nervously and began to fiddle with her hair
brush.
"Umm... Well... You see... " She saw him eying her. "What now!?"
"Yer lookin' a little pudgy, Jess."
"How dare you!"
He only eyed her closer. "Yer pregnant!"
"WHAT!?" She defensively jumped to her feet and glared at him. "Shut
you big
Meowth! I am NOT!"
"Sure ya are," he said.  "It explains yer weight gain, yer strange
eatin'
habits, yer mornin' sickness..."
"Shut up," she ordered. "If James hears you he'll go ballistic."
"So what. It's his baby, ain't it? He'd probably be proud ta be a dad."
She buried her face in her hands.  "This is so bad," she sighed. "I
CAN'T be
pregnant! I'm only twenty-one! We'll loose out jobs!"
"Shoulda taught about dat before ya..."
"Shut up," she interrupted.  "James is gonna kill me!"
Meowth shrugged.  "Eh. I bet anything dat he'll be happy.  He's
always
been in love with ya."
"Say what?"
"Yep.  HE told me a long time ago."
"But, Meowth... We're not even married yet!"
"You sure ACT like newly-weds. Here, there... everywhere..."
She blushed.  "You should mind your own business," she muttered.
"Well, yous two should learn ta keep it quiet! Yer loud enough ta wake
up da
whole forest!"
She grabbed him by the scruff of the neck. "You keep this quiet,
Meowth," she
said through clenched teeth. "If you tell James..."
"Tell me what?"
She turned at her partner's voice and squealed in surprise. "James!"
she
cried. She dropped Meowth down beside her. "HI!"
He gave her a puzzled look. "Anything wrong?"
"No, no! Everything's FINE!" She smiled nervously at him.
"You're acting a little... weird," he said cautiously.
"Who? Me?"
Meowth, still rubbing his throbbing hind-end, rolled his eyes. "Yer so
dense," he mumbled.
James looked down at him. "Why do you say that?"
The cat reached up and grabbed his wrist. "Lemme give yous a clues as
ta
what's botherin' Jess," he said. He laid James' hand over Jessie's
bared
midriff and walked away, leaving the two of them to figure it out for
themselves. James only stared in bewilderment at Jessie.
"What's this supposed to mean?"
She shrugged and laughed nervously-again. "Who knows?"
He pulled his hand off of her belly and took her hand instead. "Jessie:
tell
me what's wrong.."
Her eyes turned to the ground.  She could never say "no" when her
looked at
her the way he did. That was probably the reason that she ended up
pregnant
in the first place. "I think I'm pregnant, James," she whispered.
"Come again?"
"I'm pregnant!" she snapped now, meeting eyes with him.
"I-am-PREGNANT!"
She could see his heart beat faster. "You mean... you and me... me and
you. It's
OURS?"
She nodded, almost irritated.
"Oh Jess!" he cried, affectionately pulling her close.
It was her turn to be confused. "You're not mad?"
"I'm HAPPY!" he exclaimed. "We're gonna have a baby! You and me! Jessie
and
James!"
She let him squeeze her tighter, a slight smile beginning to form on
her
lips.  "A baby, James," she explained. "Responsibility."
"LOVE!" he insisted. "This only proves how much we love each other!"
"You need a BABY as proof?" she cried.  "All it proves is that we had a
whole
lot of... well..."
"But... I love you, Jessie.  Isn't that all that matters?"
"You love me?"
"Of course I do!" He took her hands in his and starred deeply into her
eyes.
"I've been in love with you since the first time that I laid eyes on
you."
Her eyes had turned to a dreamy look, and she gently rested her head on
his
shoulder.  "I love you too, James," she said.
He gently tilted her head up and pressed his lips to hers. "You're so
Beautiful... "
They heard a gagging noise in the trees behind them.  Jessie rolled her
eyes.
"Go away, Meowth!"
The cat snickered as the two shared another kiss, both finally happy,
and
neither even thinking about what was going to happen to their jobs..

Butch glanced over at Cassidy as they walked. "You doing okay?" he
asked.
She only shrugged in response.  "I'll live."  Silence hung in the air a
long
while before Butch decided to press on.
"I'm sorry, Cass," he said. "Why won't you forgive me?"
She stopped abruptly and glared hatefully at him. "You knocked me up
Butch!"
she said. "How could you be so irresponsible?"
"ME? You had your part in this too!"
"Well... YOU should have thought of protection!"
"What about you!?  YOU started the whole thing!"
Her face turned beet-red and she huffed angrily.  She turned to storm
away,
running right into Jessie.
"OWWW!!" they both cried in unison when they fell. Both of their
concerned
lovers ran to help them up and they finally realized who they had
collided
with.
"Oh... it's YOU, Jessie."
"HI... Cassidy." Both of their voices dripped with sarcasm, causing
their men to
back away a step or two.  They were eying each other now.
"You're looking a little... *different* , Jess..."
"I wouldn't talk! You look a little strange yourself!"
They growled at each other.  The men glared at one another, just like
their
women.
"Long time, no see, Pretty-Boy," Butch literally wheezed.
James snorted angrily. "Too bad it didn't *stay* that way, *Botch*."
Meowth took his place between the two couples now and sat, rolling his
large
eyes. "Don't tell me dat yous guys are gonna fight *again*!"
They all turned to glare at him. "Shut your Meowth!" Jessie ordered.
"Yes," James added. "We don't need you input!"
Cassidy rolled her eyes now. "Always being told what to do by their
little
chaperone..."
Jessie snarled at her. "You're the ones that need one!"
"Excuse me?!"
"Eh. Don't mind her," Meowth told Cassidy. "They've got me, and she's
still
preg... uhh..." He instantly clamped his mouth shut when he saw Butch
and
Cassidy's eyes grow wide.
They turned to Jessie now, who's face was beet-red, and stared in
shock.
James only turned his eyes to the ground.
"Oh-my-GOD!" Cassidy exclaimed. "You're *pregnant*?!"
Jessie wouldn't look at anyone as she blushed a deeper shade of red.
"All right, Twig-Boy!" Butch laughed, slapping James on the back. "I
didn't
think you had it in you!" It was James' turn to blush now.
Cassidy grinned wickedly. "Who's the one that needs the chaperone,
Jess?"
"I wouldn't be so quick ta judge," Meowth said.
"Why is that?"
"Because yer pregnant too!"
Everyone watched as her face lost all color.  It was Jessie's turn to
grin
now. "Cass!" she said bitterly. "That's *wonderful*."
James slapped Butch back now. "Way-to-go, Botch!" Once again, all four
of
them were squaring off.
"Okay! Okay!" Meowth interrupted. "Now dat you've all gotten dat weight
off
yer shoulders, let's analyze da situation."
"Analyze *what*?" Cassidy snapped. "We're pregnant. End-of-story."
"Yes," he sighed. "And yer fergettin' one ting."
"WHAT?" they all yelled.
"YER JOBS!!" he shrieked in response. "Whatta ya tink da boss'll say
when he
hears dat two of his Rocket goils is pregnant?"
Nervous glances were exchanged amongst the group at this. "What'll we
DO,
Meowth!?" James cried, embracing Jessie. "He'll fire us all!"
"He'll hunt us down and kill us," Butch corrected. He and Cassidy
glanced at
one another, and then turned away quickly.  Jessie and James were
sobbing
foolishly together, Meowth impatiently standing by and watching.
"Oh, shut up you two!" Cassidy demanded. They turned to her. "We can
get out
of this," she assured. "We CAN!"
"How?" Jessie asked. "We're all ready pregnant. It's too late!"
"Well... We can... umm... " she looked to Butch for help.  He only
shrugged as he lit
his cigarette. "You *jerk*!" she snapped. She snatched the cigarette
out of
his mouth and stubbed it out on his chest.
He yelped in pain as she did and roughly grabbed her wrists.  "Cass!?"
he
cried. "What's your deal?!"
She squirmed in his grasp. "You did this!" she yelled. "It's *your*
fault!
Now my life it RUINED!" She jerked away from him, ignoring the
horrified
stares from Jessie and James.
Jessie spoke up. "Don't you want the baby, Cassidy?"
"NO!" she yelled in response. "Do you want YOURS?!"
Jessie gave James a small smile. "Well... yes. We love each other."
Cassidy shook her head in disgust. "Well, I don't love *him*." She
jerked her
head in Butch's direction. "And I sure as hell don't want his *baby*!"
They dropped to a sitting position silently as she stormed away to the
privacy of the woods.  Butch sat across from them, a miserable look on
his
face.
"Hey?" Jessie asked with concern. "Are you all_"
"I love HER!" he interrupted. "And I thought that she felt the same... "
His
voice trailed off at the end of his sentence, and he looked as though
he may
cry.
His companions stared at him with sympathy as he turned his eyes to the
dirt
and began to sulk. Surprisingly enough to James, Jessie sat beside him
and
put her arm around his shoulders.
"It's okay, Butch," she promised. "She'll realize that she loves you
too."
"I hope so," he replied.

James had never really found Cassidy very beautiful, and he couldn't
see what
Butch saw in her.  She was incredibly cruel, boring, and arrogant.  She
had a
mean-streak ten times worse than Jessie's, and she hurt people twenty
times
as bad. Her abuse was mentally as opposed to Jessie's physical abuse.
He shuddered at the though of Cassidy raising a child alone... no Butch
to keep
her under control. She didn't make a very good mother figure in his
eyes.
Now his *Jess*... THAT was another story.
He saw her sitting at the lake, her legs crossed as she threw rocks
into it.
Casually, he sat next to her and threw a rock himself.  It hit the
surface
with a hugs splash and sunk. He caught her smirking at him.
"What do you want?" she asked.
"We've all come up with a solution," he replied.
"What? Mass suicide?"
He tried to hold a laugh. "No."
She heaved a sigh. "Why should a follow a plan that you morons came up
with?"
He sneered at her. "It'll work."
"What is it?"
"We've got a cabin."
"And?"
"*And* there's room for you and Butch too."
She turned to him. "Why should I stay with you two love-birds?  Or even
with
Butch, for that matter?
"Two pregnant women shouldn't be traveling_"
"I can take care of myself_"
"Shouldn't be *traveling*," he repeated, angry at her lack of concern
for the
situation that she was in. "Now let me finish. I've asked Jessie to
marry
me_"
"WHAT!?"
"Let me talk!" he ordered. "Team Rocket rules state (*note: I made this
up
myself ^_^) that any member is allowed to get married and have
kids... as long
as it's not with their partner.  That would mean that they were fooling
around on the job."
"DUH!" she cried. "We DID fool around with our partners!"
"Here's the deal," he went on with a sigh. "All we do is request to
switch
partners... then the pregnancies are acceptable... well... if the Boss
falls for it...
I guess we just won't tell him that the two of you are pregnant yet."
"Ya think?" she asked sarcastically. "Besides... me paired with you?
Uh-uh."
"No. You'd be with Jess.  That way the two of you can hang out at he
cabin
while me and Butch do all of the work."
She actually smiled now.  "It's perfect!" she exclaimed. "James, you
just
saved my ass!" She paused. "But... what about *after* the babies are
born?"
He shrugged. "That's your decision. Jess and me are going to quit."
"Quit?"
"Yeah. We want to start a real family... away from a life of crime."
"You're sick," she muttered, crossing her arms across her chest.
"Well... what are *you* going to do?"
She shrugged.  "Leave the kid with Butch, I suppose," she said. "It is
his
fault after all.  I'm sure the Boss'll have plenty of sols assignments
that I
can take on."
"I'm the sick one?" James asked in disgust.  "I don't know if you're
aware
that it takes *two* people to make a baby... "
"Hey!" she cries defensively, jabbing him in the chest with a finger.
"I
didn't *ask* for this! I'm just doing what I have to do!"
"But, Cass... you... well... made love with Butch."
"It was a one-time thing," she said. "Never again. I'm NOT raising his
kid!
It's bad enough that I have to carry the damned thing for nine months!"
He wanted to slap her for being so incredibly selfish and stupid.
"Cassidy,"
he said gently. "Butch loves you."
"Bull-crap," she said angrily. "Let's just go call the Boss so I can
get on
with my life."
She left, and he shook his head sadly.  Cassidy was definitely *the
most*
stubborn woman that he'd ever met... even more so than Jessie.  He only
followed
her back to the group, his head hanging sadly...

*Do you like it?  I LOVE it ^_^ This fic just keeps getting' better as
I get
further into it.  Read on to Part, it gets *GOOD* ::smiles sinisterly::
